DAAD – Come2Campus

What is DAAD?

The Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) German Academic Exchange Service is a publicly funded, nonprofit organisation founded in 1925 and headquartered in Bonn, Germany. It is the world’s largest funding organisation for the international exchange of students and researchers, managing over 2,000 scholarship and funding programmes annually.

DAAD represents 365 German higher education institutions and operates 16 offices worldwide, including a regional presence covering South Asia. For Pakistani students, the DAAD portal is the single most authoritative starting point for discovering German universities, funding options, and application requirements.

DAAD Scholarships for Pakistani Students

Each year DAAD offers several fully or partially funded scholarship programmes open to Pakistani nationals. The most relevant for undergraduate and postgraduate students include the DAAD Development-Related Postgraduate Courses (EPOS) and the Helmut Schmidt Programme for public policy and good governance.

Scholarship coverage typically includes monthly stipends, travel allowances, health insurance, and tuition waivers. Most programmes require at least two years of professional experience after your bachelor’s degree, along with a strong academic record and a well written letter of motivation. Come2Campus provides dedicated LOM writing support to strengthen your DAAD application.

How to Use the DAAD Portal

The official DAAD website at www.daad.de hosts the DAAD Course Database — a searchable directory of over 19,000 degree programmes at German universities, filterable by subject, language of instruction, degree type, and location. You can also use the built-in Scholarship Finder tool to identify funding options matched to your nationality, field, and academic level.

Create a free DAAD portal account to save programmes, track application deadlines, and submit scholarship applications directly. The portal is available in both English and German.
